Vortragstitel und Abstract

Sustainable Learning in the Digital Age: AI Between Promise and Responsibility

The focus shifted from whether AI belongs in the classroom to how it can drive sustainability, foster inclusion, and reshape pedagogy. While GenAI offers the potential for personalised learning, improved teaching quality, and alignment with the SDGs (including SDG 4), it also presents risks such as breaches of academic integrity, privacy issues, bias, over-reliance, and a lack of preparedness among educators. To keep up with the use of AI in education, the way institutions are set up needs to be changed. Teachers need to know about AI, funding needs to be made sure is going to last, governance needs to be strong, and a European approach that is based on values and is in control of itself should be used.
